Meanwhile, our final terms were approaching
us, we folks were busy studying. We boys did heavy studying, cricket matches
and sleepovers. Now the exams began, 1st one Sciences; least
prepared for it but the best it went, 2nd one was Maths which was
classic as usual, 3rd one was my best friend English, up next was my
enemy by birth Hindi but interestingly this time it was pretty much a piece of
cake for me. Then were social science, environmental science cool as ever, then
came moral sciences the mind boggler, computer science the ‘ms-paint’ job….!!!
Lastly was the physical education exam, any one of the following was to be
done; best of 3 shoots in football, best of 5 shoots in basketball or a kho-kho
match. Finally, the day of result came, I was in a total jeopardy at least I
thought so, but no I was completely safe. I topped the class, I wasn’t as happy
for topping as happy I was for beating her. I beat her by 3.63%; I scored
96.63% & she scored 93% (approx.). She was happy both for me and herself
and our entire group, she wasn’t biased at all. We had set the record of having
the whole group scoring above 90%.
The assembly began, the award ceremony was
scheduled at the conclusion of the assembly and it was surely full of surprises
especially for our group or at least I expected it. It began with the sports
man of the batch, no one from our group so why bother naming the extras (you
should have seen me while I wrote this part cause, I had this evil grin on my
face). The next announcement was for someone who has been the most active
support to his peers, teachers and everyone around the school and interestingly
it was awarded to Dhairya, I mean that was like totally cool and awesome. Next
was the award for the brightest entrant in this batch and the award was
actually shared by two people, out of them actually one was not at all a
surprise, actually more of an expected name, it was for the new tiger in my
hill…..!!!! The award was shared by Anamika from 4th C &
Priyadarshini from 4th B a.k.a our class. The bookworm award was
again given to someone else, I won’t mention her name cause it’s no use (not
from our group…!!! LOL). Then it was award for teacher’s buddy, and this was
awarded to Shivani, now that’s what I am talking about, then was the award for
omnipresence it was shared by three people Mansi, Abhivyakt and someone else
from some blah blah class…..!!!. Then came the most awaited awards of all, the
all rounder of the year; nominees were – Manisha from A, Mahen (which is
supposed to be me) from B section, Abhilasha from C and Jyoti from section D, Raman
from E and lastly Kavya from F.
And the winner is……………………… (I was dying of
tension and I nearly died)...............
